    Jean Cullander Krasno, who is published under the name Jean Cullander, is an academic and Ridgefeld resident who wrote The Train to Skeleton Coast: A Tale of Murder and the Struggle for Freedom.
    In the novel, it’s 1999 and Yale doctoral student Maggie Grayson discovers the body of a murdered woman in Newport, RI, which lands her in the middle of a web of international intrigue—and in the crosshairs of a South African secret intelligence agency. The novel explores the intertwined stories of the murdered woman, the two young children she was caring for, and the struggle for independence in Namibia.
    Krasno teaches at both Yale University and City College of New York. She holds a Ph.D. in international politics, as well as a B.F.A. in painting and an M.A. in art with an emphasis on painting and printmaking.

    Michael’s Musing: Selected Works is a book of poems by Ridgefield resident Michael E. Powers. He started writing poetry after retiring form a long career at IBM. The Dayton, Ohio native was the eldest in a family of ten, born during the Great Depression. His poetry mines his lifetime of memories with an optimistic disposition. Powers’ has had his poetry published in several outlets, including poetry.com and The Ridgefield Press.
