fiction, children's bookseducator
A former first grade teacher, Laurie Krebs and her husband lived in a pre-Revolutionary Ridgefield farmhouse; her interest in the history of the period led to a Colonial series of children’s books, including A Day in the Life of a Colonial Miller. She and her husband love to travel, and such books as We All Went on Safari–winner of the Oppenheim Toy Portfolio Gold Award and Child Magazine’s Best Children’s Books of 2003; it has sold over 500,000 copies–grew out of their trips to fascinating, faraway places. Another book in the travel series is We’re Roaming the Rainforest. The couple now live, fittingly, in Williamsburg, Virginia.
