Born in New York City in 1953, Bob Knox is an artist and children’s book author who studied at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris in 1971 and earned a degree in studio art from Wesleyan University in 1975. After Wesleyan, he traveled extensively through Europe and North Africa, living for periods in Scotland and Germany. Eventually, he settled in Ridgefield with his wife and two children.

Knox is the author of three illustrated children’s books, published from 1993 to 1995 and listed below. He also created the art for many covers for the New Yorker magazine from 1988 to 1992. His artwork has been shown in numerous solo and group exhibitions in the United States and Europe, including at Ridgefield’s Aldrich Museum of Contemporary Art. According to the book jacket on his book Great Art Adventure, his motto is: “A blank piece of paper is a missed opportunity.”
